SUMMER COURSES FOR KIDS

This is short, easy-to-master, web based course on basic computer skills. Our goal is to give you a solid foundation. Once you have understood these basics, you will have a clear understanding on which to build your future knowledge of and skill with computers. To become acquainted with your computer there are certain basic skills to be mastered. While these skills might seem obvious at first, the fact is that many people never take the time to learn these very important basics. By studying them now, you will both save time later and also improve your daily computer productivity.

Computer Basics module, the candidate is required to understand some of the main concepts of Computers & Information Technology. The candidate must be aware of the basic computer applications and how they can be used in everyday life. He must distinguish the different types of computers, the concepts hardware and software and the internal and external computer peripherals. The candidate must be in a position to adopt best practices in relation to the use of computers and distinguish between educational and recreational software.

OBJECTIVES

• children should learn that people control technology and that they themselves can control a computer; by exploration and play, this tool will become familiar.
• children should learn that technology takes different forms: calculators, telephones, tape recorders, computers that accomplish different tasks in different ways. Young children can explore and note the differences.
• children should learn that technology has rules that control how it works. Young children can begin to understand the rules that govern various technologies. They begin to know that computers must have instructions - built in or provided by the user.
• children should learn that technology has languages. Interacting with computers involves learning a vocabulary.
